Matthew Capstraw
Mr. Capstraw grew up in Central Florida, and began practicing family law in Seminole County in September of 1998. He has served as the Chair of the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee, and played a significant role in the creation of Florida’s Collaborative Process Act.
Mr. Capstraw has been practicing Family Law in Central Florida for more than 25 years. During that time he has served as the Chair of both the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee as well as the Rules and Forms Committee of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. He was highly involved in the creation of the Statutes as well as the Procedural and Ethics Rules for Florida Collaborative Process Act and has part of creating or revising numerous Family Law Rules of Procedures and Forms.
Mr. Capstraw has litigated cases at all levels of Florida Courts from County and Civil Courts, to Appellate representation, and even arguing Rules Issues before the Florida Supreme Court.
Mr. Capstraw, and his wife Kim, have two children. His hobbies include boating, cooking, writing, and all forms of games. He is proud to say he lives on his wife’s hobby farm.
